Aw shucks, I didn’t mean to tear anybody up. I haven’t read the Time article yet, but I mean to. I like the idea of Twitter as a “microblogging” platform, which facebook sort of provides, as well. Not nearly the substance, but I’m actually more connected with the people in those communities. I’m trying to be careful not to become so ambient that I’m not present with those in my actual vicinity. Or in danger of stepping in holes and into trees.

I’ll definitely check on Haven. Thanks for the recommendation!

Wendy’s Mom HAS been bawling! But she’s gotten the hang of facebook…I’ll try to find you among W’s “friends”. Your blog certainly “tickled” my brain, Facebook’s primary intent seems a bit anemic compared to blogging – I read something in a news mag that was a perfect description of twittering – ah yes, “ambient awareness. The article called, “How Twitter Will Change The Way We live” (Time – June 15th) was facinating. Is this how the world will finally become “engaged”?? Twittering in church, twittering during conferences and meetings, ideas just pouring out in cyberspace in REAL TIME! What a concept!

Ever hear of a group called “Haven”? There’s more than one, but this one put out an album in a cappella…I kept hearing one of their songs at the end of a Christian radio station segment (“Watch and Pray”) and I had to HAVE this. Wendy found it on i-tunes…found the CD…I bought it from i-tunes…made a hard copy. Amazing! If you don’t already have it, find it on i-tunes and listen. It’s one of my treasures now. Every song is memorable. You would LOVE it!!

Thanks, Gwen. I’ll leave it up; I’m keeping my options open. I’m haphazardly microblogging on twitter, @lemdavely, if you ever venture into that, as well as facebook.

I love that about the contact with your dad’s co-worker. I’ll keep checking back.

Don’t take it down, it’s a wonderful archive! Thanks for letting me visit. By the way, I left my autobiography (the first 24 years) out there in cyberspace for the past three years, and a guy who worked for my dad (40+ years ago) just found it surfing one day and wrote me, two weeks ago. Now we’ve become enjoyable penpals. You just never know. Oh, and also I love you.

Right! My first thought after your comment, Jonathan, was “yeah, me too.” The guy in the book has an older teenager who probably sleeps in. That sounds truly lovely.
